Chapter 24

“you really should start accepting me Annabell…tomorrow is our wedding” Bernard said “I still want you despite trying to run away from me” Bernard said running the back of his hand down the side of Annabells wet face as he knelt beside her.
Annabell looked at him

“how did you know where I was?”

“I told you Annabell I get what I want and your my ticket to my inheritance as well as yours…did you really think I was just going to let you run away with that lumber boy” Bernard said picking Annabell up bridal style in the rain as he walked towards her house.

“how did you know?” Annabell asked repeating her question.

“the maids know everything my dear and there way to easy to bribe for information” Bernard said that familiar smirk crawling across his face.
As they reached the door it opened and Johnson stepped out putting his hat on his head until he saw Annabell in Bernards arms, his gaze turning from her face to his.
“Annabell! What happened?” Johnson asked quickly removing his hat from his head as he took his sister from her fiancées arms.

“I believe she spranged her ankle poor thing found her out on the road horse went lame…” Bernard said and Johnson looked at him holding back his anger for this man what his parents saw in him he would never understand. Johnson helped annabell to her feet supporting her.
“well best be going…I will see you both tomorrow” he said leaning in to kiss Annabell but her Johnsons hand on his chest stopped him from coming any closer and with that Bernard turned leaving the house slamming the door behind him.

Annabell turned to Johnson

“what happened?” he asked

“Joseph did not show up… I sat there for hours John and he never came John he never came!” Annabell said starting to cry as her brother pulled her into a hug.
“Bernard knew I was there he showed up and I asked him to take me home and I slipped getting out of the carriage” annabell said pulling away glancing down at her ankle.

“Joseph never met you?” her brother asked as shocked as she was, Annabell shook her head crying once again.

Annabell spent the next morning as if she were a statue frozen in a state of hopeless despair.

Annabell was just a few hours away from a wedding that would ruin her life. Annabell looked at her reflection in the mirror.
She had on her wedding dress and hair was done, her jewerly was on and she knew all that was left was to walk into the church.

“Annabell”

She turned her gaze towards her door-way to see her mother.

“You look beautiful…Bernard is here dear he wants to take you to a suprise” her mother said and Annabell looked once more at her reflection, thoughts of Joseph and the life she had planned for herself flooding her head…she pushed them aside feeling alone and almost abondaned.

“Annabell I know you do not want to marry Bernard” her mother said softly. Annabell looked up at her mother hoping she had a last minute understanding of how Annabell truly felt.

“But I do believe that one day you will thank us” her mother said and Annabell felt her heart drop along with her gaze as it went to the ground.

Within a mere 30 minutes Annabell found herself in a carriage beside Bernard as he drove her through a field.

“Over the last 4 weeks I have had our house built” Bernard had been rambling he entire ride bu Annabell barely heard the words he spoke.

Annabell felt as if she were in a dream a dream where everything she wanted and loved was taken away from her…a dream where she could do nothing to stop her world from quickly spinning out of control.

Annabell felt a pain and while it wasn’t a physical pain she felt it in her heart.

Annabell had to use all of self control to hold back the tears as Bernard pulled into the field where only a few weeks ago Annabell and Joseph had sat talking of a future.

In the distance was a half built house, Bernard stopped the carriage infront of it and Annabell got out as she looked up at the huge house.
Bernard offered her a half smile and she could not help but glance down at the ground as she walked up the stairs.

Annabell walked into a open room that over viewed the field infront of them.

Chapter 22
MARATHON!….again….hoep you don’t mind but I got far behind and I need to catch up! so part 1

“Listen Als I need an honest answer we’ve been friends sense 3rd grade Als so I’m not going to tell anyone alright” he said and I folded my arms again

“Do you?” he asked and I feel onto the couch behind me

“I dont see why it matters” I said looking at him

“because it’s not a good idea not to mention that Jamie said he told you he has a girlfriend and the fact that your pretty much the leader of this band and-”

“Nate seriously dude your not really going to say this are you?” I said and he sat down next to me.

“okay Allie your like a little sister to me honest… and its not just because your brother would kill me if I let anything happened to you…but you’ve always been like my little sister… so I’m still gonna look out for you I’m just saying you shouldn’t get emotionally involved with him…I can see the way you look at him and the way he looks at..you”
My glance shot up at him confused

“What?” I said

“Allie I think he… well…likes you” Nathan said and now I let my shoulders fall looking at him in disbelief

“Ha yeah right Nate” I said and he shrugged

“Okay whatever but I do” he said and he got up and walked towards the door, he stopped and turned around looking at me again.

“Just watch yourself Als I don’t want you to get hurt again alright?” he said and I rolled my eyes putting a pillow that was laying on the couch over my face.

“What’s going on?” I heard Natalie ask and I pulled the pillow down to see Natalie walking in as Nathan walked out. Natalie was looking at me confused and Nathan was glancing over his shoulder at her that guy was helpless and he was worried about me liking someone…

To be honest Natalie and I hadn’t talked much sense she told everything to Joe. There was this little tension inbetween us. I was mad she told him all that stuff plus I felt like I couldn’t tell her anything anymore not knowing who it might come out to… and my guess would be that she felt kind of bad about doing it but didn’t want to tell me so there was diffently some tension there.

“Nothing” I mumbled getting up

“Hey ready to go over that song again?” Joe asked walking in behind Natalie with a guitar in hand.
He always showed up just when I needed him.

“Yeah” I said grabbing my bag and walking towards him, I walked past Natalie who grabbed my arm lightly

“We’ve got to meet with the stylist” she said and I pulled my arm away

“Hey Nats your always telling me to chill…So chill” I said with a smile walking backwards towards the door my bag over my shoulder and jacket in hand.

“Allie you haven’t met with her on-”

“Nats I can dress my self I’m not a barbie” I said turning around and walking towards Joe hearing Natalie sigh.

“You can go meet the stylist if you want…” Joe said as we walked down the hall

“Ha trust me I’d rather not” I said and Joe laughed a little

“I mean don’t get me wrong I love clothes well shopping and shoes love shoes! but-”

“I get it…” Joe said with a laugh, there was that laugh…I smiled looking over at him as we walked down the hall.

“So you’ve met my family…I haven’t heard about yours” he said opening his hotel door. I walked through it him following behind me.

“My family well I’ve got an older brothers…Mark…he’s in college and my parents are on buisness a lot but their pretty much like your parents actually” I said and Joe smiled.

“Ah well I don’t know what I would do without my parents on the road with me” Joe said and I smiled

“Yeah it must be nice” I said thinking back to my parents, sure I missed them but this whole “road trip of my life” as everyone put it was definatly turning out to be exactly that…

Over the last 3 weeks every free possible moment of mine has been spent with Joe.
Every single one from time in the studio to messing around in the studio, to backstage to before to after shows to hanging out at the hotels, and I had my little guard up over my heart, even though it seemed to crumble down bit by bit every day I spent around him, and the wierd thing was I don’t think I minded I mean not to much anyway and it was mainly because Joe has a girlfriend therefore nothing can happen, Joe had been calling me Als lately instead of Allie.
Tonight we had a big show to play and while I was nervous I couldn’t wait till afterwards.
The Jonas Brothers had invited all of us to some party after the show, and of course we were encouraged to go because we would meet “people in the buisness”
I was walking towards the stage when I saw Joe walking towards me

selpov: i was 16,shy,smart(still ammmm..),a loser…. and he was everything…nick jonas..cool,had a lot of friends….my only friend was demi…..did i mention she is my big sister….nope i didnt…..so any way, i was walking around after school demi had just went home(i told her to) and i saw some one following but then they ran right by me grabbving me and dragging me to a frnce..”climb it!” he ordered..it was nick and i knew i better do it or else a slap in the face will be my present today. “pleas nick i dont want to im scared” he looked at me like i dont care! so i started to climb i put my leg over but my dress go caught and i fell down…down…down to the ground me dress tore all the way up to my thigh… i quickly put my coat around my waist..it was cold and my finger hurt really bad when i lifted it up ther was a three inch slice. *my note:this really happen to me except im not 16 and when jhonothan found out about this he was so mad! some dude named david made me do it and david would never hit me i him up but not alot of people talk to him when they arent with there gang* i sat down and started to cry, nick 17 years old hopped the fence and laughed at me while walking away.(2 months later on seld birth day) i was walking through the local abandond garten *this didnt happen to me* when i hear nick say “well happy birthday selena whould you like your presnt now?….oh wait that isnt your choice!” he tacckled me and started to punch me and slap me .and all throuh it i screamed “shut up!” i continued to scream he put mu head in to the pond while putting a log on the back of my neck. then he got up and ran away.i was terified,fearful,cold….i struggled to get the log of pu some one lifted it off for me i shot up and gasped for air i looked at my hero…of corse my step brother shia………………………………..but of corse that was the past and now i live in new york…. (that happened 11 months ago)

Joe — no they are gone for a couple days

Jake — so are we throwing a party?

Joe — we always throw a party on Halloween

Jake — yeah and its the best party of the year

Nick — we should do something else

Jake — like what?

Nick — i dont kno, but ill think of something

Joe — until then stop thinking about my sister [hits the back of Nicks head]

Nick — ow [rubs his head]

Joe — [goes into the kitchen, grabs a couple beers then goes back to the living room, puts the beers on the table]

Nick — so we can drink, but Leah cant wear the costume she wants?

Joe — Nick—–

Jake — lets just talk about something else [grabs one of the beers, drinks it]

Joe — did you ask Alice out yet?

Jake — no, she always ignores me [drinks some more of the beer]

Nick — [grabs a beer] thats because you dont even talk to her [drinks some of his beer]

Joe — you guys are really bad when it comes to relationships

Jake — what do you mean?

Joe — i mean you wont ask out the girl you like and Nick is crushing on my sister!

Nick — [drinking his beer, chokes on it]

Jake — [laughs]

Nick — im not crushing on Leah!

Jake — yeah thats why you choked on your drink

Nick — [hits him] shut up!

Joe — lets just talk about something else…again

Jake — do you think Alice will come back when Leah comes home?

Joe — i donno maybe

Nick — seriously Jake just ask her out!

Alice — [comes in]

Joe — dont you knock?

Alice — not when im with Leah, cuz she lives here

Alice — yeah i am, shes coming [sits on the couch]

Leah — [comes in, carrying a bag] want to see my costume?

Joe — sure

Leah — kay be right back [leaves]

Alice — youll see

Leah — [comes in, wearing a slutty Angel costume]

Nick — whoa

Joe — Alice what did you do?!

Sophies POV (short one)
Umm, what should I wear tonight?
I was going out with my sisters just for some dinner, nothing fancy.
I decided to throw on a summer dress, knee high.
Sophie’s sister: Come on Soph, we have a reservation.
Sophie: coming!
I ran down stairs and threw on my fancy type sandals
We all walked out and we started laughing and talking.

Kevins POV
I didnt really want to go on a vacation yet; we had just come back from our tour.
Besides Sophie and I had plans together.
Gosh I missed her.
We werent really going out, but we had something together.
I knew we did
Id never felt like this before.
It was about 9.00pm and Sophie said she was going out with her sisters, so I doubt shell be home.
But I tried anyway.
*Kevin rings Sophies phone*
??Hello?
Kevin: hi, is Sophie there?
Mrs. Franklin: oh hi Kevin, no Im sorry, she rang about 5 minutes ago and she said shell be home in about an hour; did you want me to let her know you called?
Kevin: uh no its ok ill just talk to her at school tomorrow, thanks, bye
I hung up the phone, man I was sad, I missed her a lot.
Never mind, ill see her tomorrow, and well be spending time together at the pools so itll be fun.
I lay my head on my pillow, and fell asleep.

8. Girl Stuff

The next day after I had breakfast I started to panic. I called Jane.
“Hello?”
“Jane?! I need your help!”
“Huh? Who is this?”
“Ellie. I have a date. And I really don’t know what to wear. And you’re the only girl other than my sister I know in this town. And she’s out to work.”
“Calm down. I’ll come over, ok?”
“That would be great. Thanks.”

When Jane arrived ten minutes later I was about to go insane.
“Ellie. Calm down it’s only 12:40. what time does he get here?”
“At 5.”
“Where are you going?”
“We’re just going to watch some movies here and order pizza.”
“But your sister is home.”
“She has a date.. with his brother.”
“Right. Well if you’re staying in you should wear something casual but pretty.”
“You’re right. So we’ll just have to find something.”
I pulled open my closet door and immediately wished I hadn’t. I still hadn’t really organized it and most of my clothes were still lying on the floor and my shoes we’re thrown in a corner.
“What happened in there?”
“Uhm.. I haven’t actually organized it yet.”
“We should do that first then.”
“What? You would really help me?”
“Ellie, we can’t find anything in there.”
“True. Maybe we should eat something first.”
We went downstairs and had a sandwich then we want back to my room and looked at the mess that was supposed to be my closet. We started by taking all my clothes and tossing them on my bed. Then we placed my shoes on a shelve. After that we divided my clothes in groups: skirts, T-shirts, pants, dresses,… By the time we were ready organizing my closet it was 15.00. We started looking for an outfit to wear on my date. We decided on my black cropped jeans and a purple top. I put on my black sneakers deciding it was crazy to wear heels if we were going to stay inside. They also would have made me bigger than Joe because he’s only about an inc taller than me.
“We should get you some accessories. Where did you put them?”
“Oh, there in that case. Everything is in there. Belts, earrings, necklaces,. ..”
Then Lauren ran into my room. She was wearing a beautiful green dress and white leggings. I’d never seen her wear a dress before. When she went to high school she started wearing skirts now and then but she’d never worn dresses.
“You look great I said.”
“Thanks. I was wondering if I could borrow you beads, the white ones.”
“Sure.”
I started looking through my case. I tossed aside my belts and some other stuff and then I found them.”
“There you go. Why are you in such a hurry?”
“It’s already 16:25 and Kevin’s picking me up at 5.”
“What it’s already 16:25. Joe’s supposed to be here at 5 too.
“Yeah, Kevin’s dropping him off because he doesn’t have a license yet.”
“Neither do I.”
“Your only sixteen. Joe’s nineteen. And in Belgium you have to be eighteen to get your license so you couldn’t learn it there yet.”
“Maybe he just likes making Kevin haul him around.”
“Probably. You like making me drive you everywhere.”
“Now that I live here I can probably learn how to drive.”
“Great idea.”
She turned around and walked back to her room.
“So what are you going to wear.”
“I was thinking my black starry earrings and maybe my black belt.”
“Now what are you going to do with your hair?”
“I don’t know. Any ideas?”
“You should just leave it down. It looks great that way.”
“I could wear my black diadem. I don’t want my hair hanging in front of my face.”
“Sounds great.”
Jane helped me do my hair. I thanked here like a millions times for coming over to help me.
“It’s ok. I loved to help. Just make sure you’ll do the same for me when I need you help.”
“Promise.”
“I should go now. Its already 16:50. I don’t want to be here when your date arrives.”
“Ok. See you later. And thanks again.”
“Your welcome. Just don’t overdo it on the make-up or my efforts might have been for nothing.”
“Okay.”
After she left I went over to the bathroom and put on some mascara and lipstick. Then I went to check if Lauren was ready. She was putting her stuff in MY white purse.
“That’s mine.”
“I know. I wanted to ask you but you were in the bathroom and it’s almost time.”
“It’s okay. So you’re ready?”
“Yep. Try not to trash the house while I’m gone.”
“You starting to sound like mom.”
“Well I am kind of your guardian now so maybe I’m supposed to sound like that.”
“I don’t need a babysitter I’m..”
DING DONG!
“That’s them.”
“Let’s go.”

“Okay, now you’re just kidding, Lee.”
“No! Why the would I joke about this?”
I walked into her closet, and she was putting a shirt on. I sighed. She was so sexy, with just her bra on. Especially when she was mad.
“Because it’s not that believable. Sel being pregnant with your brothers baby. Not that believable.”
“But its true.”
I leaned on the door, as she moved over to get her shoes. I put my hands in my pockets, and asked.
“So they’re getting married now?”
“Yup. One week, remember? You were invited nimrod. And it’s on every freaking tabloid and talk show.”
“So I need to wear another tux? Sad.”
“Well I need to wear a gown. I’m a brides maid. Sadder.”
“Not for me. You are hot when you wear dresses.”
She rolled her eyes, and walked up to me.
“I hate you.” She said, with a smile.
“I hate you more, baby.”
“No you don’t.” She smirked, ignoring me calling her baby.
“You’re right. That was a lie.”
I kissed her, taking my hands out of my pockets. I placed my hands around her waist, and she placed hers against my chest.
“Ahem.” A voice from behind said.
I pulled away from Lee quickly.
“Hey, Nick!” Lee said grinning.
Nick opened up his arms for a hug, and she ran to him, throwing her arms around him. Nick raised an eyebrow at me, and I grinned innocently. He rolled his eyes, and Lee pulled away.
“So, hows it going up in Wyckoff, Nick?” She asked.
“Awesome. Sel’s doing great! So is the baby.”
“So you were serious.” I said to Lee.
She poked her tongue out at me, and I laughed.
“Congrats.” I told Nick giving him a hug.
“Thanks, Brey.”
“The wedding’s here in Cali, right?” I asked.
“Yeah. Sel and I are just gonna take a year off work after. Live in Jersey. Raise the kid first, you know?”
“Yeah. Sounds great.”
“Oh yeah! Lee. Sel, Demz and Tay are looking for you.” He said to Linley.
“Damn it. I try to escape the whole brides maid thing.” She groaned.
“Well I’m being a good groom and not allowing you to.”
“An youre being a bad brother by torturing me.”
Nick rolled his eyes, and Lee kissed me on the cheek.
“Later!”
She said, leaving the room.
“Take care of her, kid.” Nick told me, eyes still focused on his sister.
“Will do bro.”
“Not your bro.” He said, as we left the room.
“Not a kid.” I smirked.
He rolled his eyes and slapped me up the head.
“Violence, Nick. Violence.” I laughed.

(Kevin’s Point of View)
“Nick, stop jumping.” I said, trying to hold his shoulders down.
“I can’t help it! I’m getting married in an hour for crying out loud!”
“It’s that,” Joe said, drinking a Red Bull, “or they’re giving away free diet Coke.”
“They are?!” Nick said, still hyper.
“No, Nick. Now sit down.”
D”oes Nick need to use the bathroom?” Lee asked, coming into the room, “Never mind. Dont answer that. Joe, get into your suit. Here, you left your tie.”
“Fine.” Joe said, standing up.
He took his jacket off, revealing his suit, and sat back down. Lee handed him his tie, and he threw it aside.
“Done.”
“You’re such a loser.” Lee said, rolling her eyes.
“Yeah, but you’re related to that loser.”
“Sadly, we all are. Joe, put the tie on.” I said.
“Anyways,” Lee said, “Joe we need you. C’mon.”
Joe stood up, and Lee added,
“Bring the tie.”
He rolled his eyes, and stuck his tongue at her when she turned around. He grabbed the tie, and they left the room.
“Thanks for being my best man Kev.”
“Anytime Nick.”
“When Sel gives birth, He started, do think the media will think that we got married just cause of that?”
“Well,” I started, “that is pretty much the main reason, right?”
“You sure about that?” He asked, seriously.
“Well, no. You have your reasons Nick. I know you do.”
He sighed, and fixed his tie one last time.
“Better go wait for Sel at the altar now.” I told him.
“Yeah. Guess I should.”
“Good luck bro.”
